พระพุทธศาสนาเป็นศาสนาแห่งการศึกษาและพัฒนามนุษย์ โดยมุ่งส่งเสริมให้บุคคลฝึกฝนตนเองทั้งด้านพฤติกรรม จิตใจ และปัญญา ตามหลักไตรสิกขา ได้แก่ ศีล สมาธิ และปัญญา การบรรพชาอุปสมบทเป็นพระภิกษุจึงมิได้มีความหมายเพียงการเปลี่ยนแปลงสถานภาพจากฆราวาสเข้าสู่เพศบรรพชิตเท่านั้น หากยังเป็นโอกาสสำคัญในการศึกษาพระธรรมวินัย ฝึกอบรมจิตใจ ลดละกิเลส และเรียนรู้แนวทางการดำเนินชีวิตตามหลักคำสอนของพระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้าอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม พระนวกะ หมายถึง พระภิกษุผู้บวชใหม่หรือพระภิกษุที่มีพรรษายังไม่มาก ถือเป็นช่วงเริ่มต้นของการดำเนินชีวิตในสมณเพศ พระนวกะจำนวนมากเคยดำเนินชีวิตอยู่ในสังคมฆราวาสที่มีความเร่งรีบ ต้องเผชิญกับภาระหน้าที่ การแข่งขัน การใช้เทคโนโลยี และสิ่งเร้าต่าง ๆ เมื่อเข้าสู่ร่มกาสาวพัสตร์จึงจำเป็นต้องได้รับการฝึกอบรมอย่างเป็นระบบ เพื่อให้สามารถปรับตัวให้เข้ากับระเบียบแบบแผนของวัด เข้าใจพระธรรมวินัย รู้จักสำรวมกาย วาจา และใจ ตลอดจนเห็นคุณค่าที่แท้จริงของการบรรพชาอุปสมบท ในระยะเริ่มต้นของการครองสมณเพศ พระนวกะอาจประสบปัญหาหลายประการ เช่น ความไม่คุ้นเคยกับกิจวัตรของสงฆ์ การขาดความรู้เกี่ยวกับหลักพระธรรมวินัย ความฟุ้งซ่าน ความคิดถึงครอบครัว ความไม่อดทนต่อสภาพแวดล้อม ตลอดจนการไม่เข้าใจวิธีฝึกจิตที่ถูกต้อง หากได้รับเพียงการศึกษาภาคทฤษฎีหรือการฟังบรรยาย แต่ขาดการฝึกปฏิบัติอย่างจริงจัง อาจทำให้ไม่สามารถเข้าถึงคุณค่าของการบวชได้อย่างลึกซึ้ง ดังนั้น การนำหลักวิปัสสนากัมมัฏฐานมาใช้ในการฝึกอบรมพระนวกะจึงเป็นแนวทางสำคัญที่จะช่วยให้พระภิกษุผู้บวชใหม่ได้เรียนรู้พระพุทธศาสนาจากประสบการณ์ตรง วิปัสสนากัมมัฏฐานเป็นกระบวนการฝึกจิตและเจริญปัญญา เพื่อให้เกิดความรู้แจ้งตามความเป็นจริงของสภาวธรรม โดยพิจารณากาย เวทนา จิต และธรรม ตามหลักสติปัฏฐาน ๔ ผู้ปฏิบัติจะได้รับการฝึกให้มีสติรู้เท่าทันอาการที่เกิดขึ้นในปัจจุบัน เห็นความเปลี่ยนแปลงของร่างกาย ความรู้สึก ความคิด และสภาวะทางจิต โดยไม่เข้าไปยึดถือว่าเป็นตัวตนหรือเป็นของตน หลักการดังกล่าวนำไปสู่การเห็นลักษณะของไตรลักษณ์ ได้แก่ ความไม่เที่ยง ความเป็นทุกข์ และความไม่มีตัวตน อันเป็นพื้นฐานของการพัฒนาปัญญาในพระพุทธศาสนา

Khao Phansa Day (Beginning of Buddhist Lent)

On the occasion of Buddhist Lent Day, Wat Saphan Sung in Nonthaburi Province organized religious activities to preserve Buddhist traditions and encourage public participation. The activities included offering alms and meals to monks, presenting Lent candles and monastic necessities, listening to Dhamma sermons, and practising meditation. Buddhist Lent marks the beginning of the three-month rainy-season retreat, during which Buddhist monks remain at a designated monastery to study and practise the Buddha’s teachings. The observance provides an important opportunity for Buddhists to make merit, observe moral precepts, refrain from harmful behaviour, and apply Buddhist principles in daily life. These activities also strengthen cooperation among the temple, local community, and members of the public while promoting unity and shared responsibility for preserving Buddhism and Thailand’s valuable religious heritage for future generations.

Asarnha Bucha Day

On the occasion of Asalha Puja Day, Wat Saphan Sung in Nonthaburi Province organized Buddhist religious activities to help preserve and promote Buddhism, encourage the study of Buddhist teachings, and provide an opportunity for Buddhists to perform meritorious deeds together as an offering of devotion to the Lord Buddha. Asalha Puja Day falls on the full moon day of the eighth lunar month. It commemorates the occasion when the Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon, known as the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, to the five ascetics. In this sermon, he taught the Middle Way and the Four Noble Truths, which serve as essential principles for overcoming suffering and leading a righteous life. When Venerable Kondañña attained the Dhamma Eye and was ordained as the first Buddhist monk, the Triple Gem—comprising the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha—was completed for the first time. The activities organized on this occasion included merit-making, offering alms to monks, observing the precepts, listening to Dhamma sermons, and participating in a candlelight procession. These activities encouraged participants to reflect upon the virtues of the Triple Gem and to apply Buddhist teachings in their daily lives with mindfulness, compassion, and social responsibility. May the power of the Triple Gem and the merits accumulated by everyone through these wholesome activities bring happiness, prosperity, good health, and encouragement to continue supporting and preserving Buddhism for generations to come.
