Phra Khru Nonthakit Sophon (Thongsuk Intasaro)

1948 - 1982

Phra Khru Nonthakit Sophon (Thong Suk Intasaro) was a senior monk who played an important role in preserving and promoting Buddhism in Khlong Phra Udom Subdistrict, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, and formerly served as the abbot of Wat Saphan Sung. He was widely revered by Buddhists for his simple and austere way of life, disciplined conduct, and strong dedication to developing the temple as a spiritual center of the community.


Phra Khru Nonthakit Sophon was born with the name Thong Suk into a local family in Nonthaburi Province and was raised in a simple canal-side community lifestyle. Upon reaching an appropriate age, he was ordained as a Buddhist monk and received the Dhamma name “Intasaro,” meaning one who possesses the essence of spiritual faculties, reflecting steadfastness in moral discipline, concentration, and wisdom.
